Grazie mille! I don't know Italian so I definitely appreciate having someone to ask for help. :) Julia\talk 16:44, 31 ago 2016 (CEST)Rispondi

Kudos! modifica

dear JUlia,

you earned my heartfelt appreciation for your effort in transcribing such a text (17th century, strange Italian language and need for exoterical templates): let me explain some of the most tricky to let you get nearer to the desired result:

{{RigaIntestazione}} is the twin of Template:RunningHeader, its parameters are (given a header)

1=what appears in the left corner / 2=what appeares in the center / 3= what appears in the right corner

So the page numbers are in the first parameter when even; in the third parameter when odd, i.e.

{{RigaIntestazione|26||}} and {{RigaIntestazione|||27}}

Another little trick: the {{Annotazione a lato}} template has different behaviour in the Pagina and in the main namespace; in the page it appears like a "section title" so, even if it is placed at the end of the first line of a paragraph in the page, it must be placed at the beginning of the paragraph to have it correctly floating in the main namespace.

THird little trick: when a word is broken at the end of a page, the {{Pt}} template is used to handle such issue; given the word "frag-ment" its syntax is:

{{Pt|frag-|}} at the end of page one .... {{Pt|ment|fragment}} at the beginning of page two

with this trick in nsPage both fragments are shown as they appear in the two pages, but in ns0 only the second parameter of the second Pt template (viz. the whole word) is shown.

That's all... for the moment. I'm taking a weekend off, so I'll be back next Monday: happy editing. - εΔω 08:20, 3 set 2016 (CEST)Rispondi

Wow, thanks so much for the help! I've not done a lot of editing on Wikisource, so it has definitely been challenging trying to figure this stuff out in a language I don't understand! I appreciate your advice so much. :) Please don't hesitate to correct me on anything else! Julia\talk 23:33, 4 set 2016 (CEST)Rispondi

Another source modifica

Dear Julia,

sometimes the scanned image of a page is blurry and does not let you understand the spelling of a word (it happens quite often in the side notes): a handy help can be found comparing our pdf with this better scanned book of the same edition.

By the way, you claim that you do not understand the Italian language, but the quality of your transcription is remarkably good: I am amazed. What is your secret? - εΔω 07:02, 7 set 2016 (CEST)Rispondi

Good find! That cleaner copy will definitely be helpful.
I'm very pleased that you think my transcription is so good! Thank you! I don't think I have a secret though? Maybe knowing some Latin, German, Spanish, and French helps? Or perhaps it's just that I rely on my browser to tell me when an Italian word is spelled wrong so that I double or triple check it. It's certainly been beneficial for the s and f confusion. And I've learned to tune out how insistent it is that perchè is a misspelling! Julia\talk 04:27, 8 set 2016 (CEST)Rispondi

Incontro di Wikisource modifica

Ciao, al Bar stiamo pensando ad organizzare un incontro nazionale di Wikisource. Ti va di partecipare alla discussione? --MediaWiki message delivery (disc.) 12:02, 16 ott 2016 (CEST)Rispondi

I caught up. modifica

Dear Julia,

I proofread the pages you trascribed in the treatise by Bandini. If you like you can go on. - εΔω 23:52, 10 lug 2019 (CEST)Rispondi
