This book has three parts. In the first part: ON THE TRAGIC GREATNESS OF ITALY the a. examines the political illness of which from so many centuries Italy suffers.

In the second part: REFLECTIONS OF A TRAVELER ON OUR LITERARY CIVILISATION, the a. brings the problem on the literary field. The root of all evils is the lack of liberty becoming lack of probity.

In the thir a. part of the volume the pass from the critical to the artistical point of view in three dialogues in which all these problems are cleverly erposed.

The excellent introduction due to Count Sforza shows the ethical importance of the book, and his wish that this book could be read and meditated by young italian generation who will find passionate teaching dictated by love.
